Dr. Rey has over 35 years of experience in Internal Medicine. His Residency in Internal Medicine was completed at Mount Vernon Hospital in affiliation with Columbia University in New York. Dr. Rey is board certified in Internal Medicine, he began private practice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, prior to moving to Florida in 1997. From Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Weckesser moved to the west coast of Florida in 1949. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He then completed his internship and residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and his cardiology fellowship at the University of Maryland in College Park.  

Dr. Weckesser spent 18 years in the private practice of cardiology in Baltimore, where he served as the director of the Coronary Care Unit at Mercy Hospital. He also spent two years in the Armed Forces as a United States Army Major, including one year in Vietnam.
