Teodor Pitea, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and founder of Interventional Endoscopy Associates PLLC in Peoria, Scottsdale, and Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Pitea received his medical degree from Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, before moving to the United States in 2001 to pursue a career in gastroenterology. Following a residency in internal medicine, he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Morningside (formerly St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center), an affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Ijaz Ahmed, MD, MS, RRT, joined Arizona Chest & Sleep Medicine in July of 2022 as a Transitional Training Physician. He is a transitional training physician to join our group, receiving approximately 50 hours per week of medical education under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Raza, who is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ahmed completed his undergraduate education at Allam Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He then obtained his master’s in clinical science, majoring in Pulmonary Rehabilitation from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
