Karl Bodendorfer, MD, is an experienced and highly skilled ophthalmologist serving patients of all ages at Columbia Eye Associates & Family Focus Eye Care in Lake City, Live Oak, and Gainesville, Florida. As the founder of Columbia Eye Associates, Dr. Bodendorfer leads a compassionate team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and technicians to provide the best eye care possible. The team specializes in glasses and contact lens prescriptions, pediatric eye care, medical aesthetics, and treatment for cataracts, diabetes-related vision issues, strabismus, and glaucoma.
Dr. Bodendorfer completed his bachelor’s degree at Pennsylvania State University. He continued his studies at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Bodendorfer then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Upon completion of his training at the University of Florida in 2000, Dr. Bodendorfer was hired to be its first comprehensive ophthalmologist. He also ran ophthalmology residency programs at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Florida Shands Hospital. From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Bodendorfer taught a second-year course in ophthalmology at the University of Florida medical school.
In 2007, Dr. Bodendorfer established Columbia Eye Associates and transitioned to a full-time medical practice. He remains affiliated with the University of Florida and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and Columbia County Medical Society.
In his free time, Dr. Bodendorfer enjoys giving back to his community by working with the March of Dimes and NASA medical support team. The highlight of his philanthropic efforts was a 2007 mission trip to Honduras with the University of Florida to provide eye care to the adults and children there.

Bilal Khodr, MD, is a board-certified doctor of emergency medicine proudly serving the Lake City, Florida, community at Mercy Medical Urgent Care. He has over 20 years of experience as a primary health care provider specializing in pediatrics.
Dr. Khodr earned his medical degree from The Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut — the leading internationally accredited medical institute of the Middle East in Beirut, Lebanon. Relocating to New York, Dr. Khodr completed an internship in pediatrics at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.
Following his internship, Dr. Khodr completed his residency in pediatrics at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he provided inpatient and outpatient care to children and families.
He later participated in a fellowship for neonatal-perinatal medicine at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. After this, Dr. Khodr completed a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida.
Contributing to his extensive experience, Dr. Khodr has affiliations with UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, and Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.

As a dedicated board-certified cardiologist, Ram Vasudevan, MD, FACC, FACP, FCCP, FABHP, FASC, CCDS, has a mission of ensuring every patient is met with personalized attention, respect, and compassion. Dr. Vasudevan has been with Marion Physician Associates, P.A. in Downtown Ocala and Ocala West, Florida, since its inception over two decades ago.
Born and raised in India, Dr. Vasudevan attended college in Mumbai. He stayed close to home and went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the Topiwala National Medical College and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital in Mumbai. After graduation, Dr. Vasudevan relocated to the United States for his patient care training.
Dr. Vasudevan completed his residency training at LaGuardia Hospital (now Long Island Jewish Forest Hills) in Queens, New York, as well as the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. He also obtained specialized pacemaker and device training under the renowned Charlie Byrd, MD, while at Mount Sinai. Dr. Vasudevan’s training even included a full year as a general surgical resident at Lincoln Medical Center (now NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln) in the Bronx, New York.
To ensure he’s up to date with advancements in research and treatments, Dr. Vasudevan maintains his board certifications in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He’s also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Vasudevan has specialized certifications in electrocardiography, echocardiography, nuclear medicine, Venefit™ Targeted Endovenous Therapy, and cardiac device implantations. Dr. Vasudevan takes pride in providing patient-centric care and educating his patients. He has special interests in device implantation, including biventricular lead insertions.
With his love of languages, Dr. Vasudevan can fluently speak English, Hindi, and Tamil, as well as some conversational Spanish. He’s able to help patients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds who may struggle with language barriers.
In his free time, Dr. Vasudevan enjoys flying (he has an instrument and commercial rating), singing karaoke, using computers, reading, and keeping abreast of technology.
