Thomas Arne Jr., DO, FACC, is an internist, a board-certified cardiologist, and the founder of Gulfshore Personalized Care in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Arne founded the practice with a mission to deliver the highest quality medical care to patients in the community. He is also an assistant clinical professor at Florida State Univeristy's College of Medicine.
Dr. Arne attended Ferris State University, graduating in 1981 with his pharmacy degree. He then went on to complete his medical degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1986. After graduating, he joined several internships, residency programs, and cardiology fellowships in Chicago and Park Ridge, Illinois, as well as Detroit, Michigan.
During his internal medicine residency (1990-1991) and cardiology fellowship (1993-1994), he was elected chief resident and fellow. After dedicating three years of his career to a private practice in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he relocated to Sarasota in 1997.
His first years were spent with Intercoastal Medical Group. There, he successfully helped transition the practice from a primary care to a multispecialty group. In 2006, he founded his cardiology practice, Gulfshore Cardiology, which was renamed to Gulfshore Personalized Care.
With over 30 years of experience in health care, Dr. Arne saw the growing need for personalized care and created a practice where he could better accommodate his patients’ needs. He understands the importance of building patient-doctor relationships for creating quality, individualized care.
