Dr. Favila completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University in Bloomington, earning his Bachelor of Science in microbiology. He went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois, graduating in 2017.
Following medical school, Dr. Favila completed his residency in family medicine at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. He was named Family Medicine Chief Resident in his final year.
At Health Solutions, Dr. Favila provides the full scope of family medicine services, including annual physical exams and the management of conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Samer Kassar, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and the lead practitioner at Midwest Neurology Associates, P.C. in Dyer, Indiana. In addition to patient care, Dr. Kassar uses his medical expertise to act as a leader, guide, and educator for the staff. Born in Damascus, Syria, Dr. Kassar received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Damascus School of Medicine, graduating with honors at the top of his class. He then relocated to the US and completed his residency at Saint Louis University, School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Following his residency, Dr. Kassar worked as an internal medicine hospitalist at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois, as well as an emergency room physician at the VA Medical Center, also in Marion. After working for a few years, Dr. Kassar decided he wanted to focus on neurology and completed his neurology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.
Dedicated to his career, Dr. Kassar has conducted extensive research and participated in many conferences. He’s also active within his professional community, acting as an interpreter and translator for Arabic to English and vice versa in a number of international medical conferences. Dr. Kassar previously trained physicians in Syria and provided medical care in and around Damascus to the underprivileged.
When he isn’t focused on helping change his patient’s lives, Dr. Kassar enjoys playing and watching soccer and traveling around the world.
