Dr. Sachin Kunde, MD, MPH (Dr. K), is a board-certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist who has been providing compassionate care to children and young adults (ages 0–21) across North Carolina since 2014. With his extensive expertise in pediatric gastrointestinal health, Dr. K joined the Raleigh Medical Group and Wake Endoscopy in 2025 to establish the RMG Pediatric Gastroenterology service.
Dr. K completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, and his Pediatric Residency at the Detroit Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mumbai, India, and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. K began his career in Michigan, working at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and serving as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University. Dr. Allen attended medical school at UNC and performed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he also served as Chief Fellow and completed a sub fellowship in Pancreatobiliary Medicine. He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He originally joined Raleigh Medical Group in 1991. He and his wife, Dr. Jill Allen, who are both from very rural areas, moved to the country in Southern Virginia to slow down some, raise a family along the shores of Kerr Lake, and devote themselves to the practice of their specialties in very underserved areas. Dr. Allen closed his practice after 21 years of service and has rejoined his friends, both old and new, at Raleigh Medical Group. And he admits, he is having a blast!
Dr. Allen has won Clinician of the Year Awards from both UNC and Duke University Medical Center. He won the Presidents Award from the Virginia GI Society for his work in converting the ACG Williamsburg Conference from a local speakers’ conference to the third largest academic GI conference in America. Dr. Hussain was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Baghdad, Iraq. She received her medical degree from the University of Sulaimani School of Medicine in Sulaimani, Iraq. She completed her internal medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and her gastroenterology fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Christopher Schwarz is a Michigan native. He graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit with his medical degree. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago before relocating to the Southeast to do his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Schwarz is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology.
He joined the group in 1998. Some of his clinical interest include biliary and pancreatic diseases, therapeutic endoscopy, and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Schwarz has been involved with fundraising for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the Cancer Hospital at Rex Healthcare.

Dr. K completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, and his Pediatric Residency at the Detroit Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mumbai, India, and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. K began his career in Michigan, working at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and serving as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University. During his tenure, he was actively involved in research and conducted clinical trials focused on children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Notably, he led the first Phase 1 clinical trial exploring fecal transplant as a treatment for pediatric ulcerative colitis. In 2014, he moved to North Carolina to establish the Pediatric Gastroenterology program at WakeMed Hospital, where he served as the Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology. In 2018, he launched and managed his private practice, Wake Pediatric Gastroenterology.
Dr. K brings broad expertise in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with a special focus on general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), gastrointestinal inflammation caused by food allergies, and endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. K enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, exploring the beauty and activities North Carolina has to offer.
