Dr. Jeremy Gutwein was born in Bronx, NY, and grew up in Westchester county. He received his Bachelor of Arts from New York University, Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology in 1998. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2002 and completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. He then earned a Master of Science degree in Nutrition at New York University in 2006 and went on to receive his training in Gastroenterology, which he completed in 2009, at Montefiore Medical Center. He joined Riverdale Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases immediately following his fellowship training.

Maria Lufrano, MD, is a specialist in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. At her practice – ML Gastroenterology in Bronxville, New York – she treats disorders of the digestive system, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), colitis, functional disorders of the gut, and liver disease on a daily basis.

Maria continued to be interested in medicine and research and decided to pursue a degree in medicine. In 2002 she graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at North Shore University Hospital – Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Long Island in 2012.
