Dr. Seecoomar specializes in gastroenterology and hepatology and emphasizes noninvasive treatments to help his patients. Some of the conditions he focuses on include colon cancer and polyp screening and prevention. GERD/acid reflux/heartburn; ulcers; H. Pylori gastritis, IBD (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease). IBS: constipation, diarrhea; abdominal pain, bloating; liver test abnormalities; fatty liver, gallbladder disorders. Dr. Seecoomar also offers diet, nutrition, and weight management counseling.
Dr. Seecoomar takes a comprehensive approach to evaluating his patients with an awareness of the mind-body connection. A thorough history and physical exam always precede treatment or additional testing. When appropriate, blood and stool tests are ordered. More advanced diagnostic tools such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and various scans, such as ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI may be recommended as needed to get to the bottom of a particular problem or for a routine screening when appropriate. Often, invasive tests can be avoided.
