Dr. Pontikos received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Buffalo (SUNY) in Buffalo, New York. Passionate about pursuing his medical degree, he went to Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, to achieve his medical licensure as a Doctor of Medicine.
After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Pontikos completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. He taught medical students and performed several procedures to diagnose and treat infection of the GI systems.
He later completed a Fellowship with Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he became the Chief Gastroenterology Fellow and acquired new skills in diagnosing, treating, and preventing issues with the digestive system.

Dr. Gellis began his education at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, receiving his Bachelor of Science in cell and molecular biology. He went on to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he achieved his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Scott A. Fulton is a Board-Certified and Fellowship-trained Gastroenterologist at The Gastroenterology Group in Akron, Ohio. Serving as the President of the practice, he shares his passion for providing health care to patients looking to relieve digestive system issues.
Dr. Fulton received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology and chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, in Amherst, Massachusetts. Shortly after this, he pursued his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California in San Diego, California.
He continued his Internal Medicine Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center through Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Case Western Reserve (MetroHealth) and Rush Presbyterian University in Chicago, Illinois.
In addition to high honors in school, Dr. Fulton has received recognition from Cleveland Magazine Top Docs and has been considered one of the Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctors since 2015.
Serving several years as a clinical instructor, associate professor, and associate staff physician at multiple locations, he has also received awards for his teaching from the AGMC Department of Medicine. She also served as the Associate Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship program. She was previous Medical Director of the Digestive Health Institute at University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, Ohio.
