With a doctoral degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and a medical degree from The SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York City, Dr. Kurbatov combines deep clinical expertise with cutting-edge research skills. His academic journey also includes a Master of Health Science from Yale University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in creative writing from CUNY Brooklyn College.
Dr. Kurbatov’s extensive clinical experience spans roles such as a general surgery resident and intern at Yale University, where he excelled in wound care management, surgical procedures, and patient education. His hands-on skills are complemented by advanced technical proficiency in EMR documentation, surgical skills, and laboratory techniques, including murine cancer cell culture and viral vector engineering.
As a graduate researcher at Yale University, Dr. Kurbatov led innovative research on HOX genes in cancer, integrating bioinformatic and genomic data to improve treatment methods and address healthcare disparities. His contributions have been presented at national conferences and published in reputable journals, including the Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology and The Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Kurbatov’s career also includes valuable experience as a polysomnographic technologist at Weill Cornell Center for Sleep Medicine in New York City, where he specialized in complex sleep studies and patient education. His multidisciplinary expertise and commitment to advancing medical science make him a leading figure in his field.
Rachael Konigsberg is a graduate of Drexel University Physician Assistant Program in Philadelphia, PA. She is a board certified Physician Assistant by the NCCPA. She received her BA from Boston University and joined Internal Medicine of Greater New Haven in 2020.
Chris Thompson is a Physician Assistant and has completed an extensive Dermatology Fellow program through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He has been treating dermatologic conditions for more than 10 years. While an active duty he was an Instructor at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute where he taught dermatology to physicians and Navy medics.
Chris retired from the US Navy in 2016 after serving 26 years. He received his Physician Assistant degree in 2003 from University of Nebraska.
Chris provides comprehensive medial and cosmetic dermatology care, including diagnosing and treating skin cancers and other skin conditions, like acne, warts eczema and psoriasis. He provides aesthetics treats for the aging skin to make natural corrections using laser, fillers and neuromodulators.
He lives in Old Lyme, CT with his beautiful wife and four children.
Dr. Matthew Rodgers trained at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and joins the practice after retiring from the Army after a 27-year career. He is board certified in family medicine and sleep medicine with a focus on sleep medicine for the past 10 years.
He was the Army medical director for the virtual medical center for two years focusing on providing synchronous and asynchronous virtual health care throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Dr. Rodgers created virtual sleep medicine clinics to provide sleep testing and treatment to sites in four countries and eight sites, throughout Europe. Professionally he enjoys narcolepsy, sleep apnea and the complex interactions between sleep and PTSD.
Dr. Rodgers likes football, basketball, and baseball. But ironically wasn’t good at any of them, so he played rugby for eight years and wrestled for fourteen and coached wrestling for five years.
Recognizing the shortcomings of the U.S. healthcare system and the opportunities made possible by advances in mobile technology, Dr. Avinesh Bhar left his office-based practice in 2019 to focus on establishing a telemedicine practice founded on high-value and personalized, convenient and cost-effective sleep and pulmonary care.
Dr. Bhar is a fellowship-trained and board-certified in sleep and pulmonary medicine. He has been in practice for over seven years following the completion of his fellowships at Washington University in St Louis and the University of Tennessee (Memphis). He also holds a MBA from the University of Chicago.

Dr. Amy Meoli has been practicing sleep medicine for over 20 years. She trained at the University of Missouri-Kansas City prior to her sleep fellowship at Allegheny University in Philadelphia. She is board-certified in sleep medicine.
Dr. Meoli says she recognized the changes in patient needs related to sleep issues, and the growing time constraint people have to manage. She believes Sliiip is a progressive move to accommodate patient needs.
Dr.Meoli is excited to be a part of this organization. Besides work, she enjoys time with her puppies. She loves to travel and cook.
