I'm Dr. Valerie Lyon, and it's a pleasure to welcome you to Lyon Primary Care, in Midtown, New York, NY.

The doctor-patient relationship is ideally a long-term collaboration.  You and I work together to help keep you healthy, and if difficulties should arise, we want you to know you can look to us for supportive, attentive and skilled medical care.

Though most of my patients are young women, often new to New York, I also see many others, both male and female, whom I’ve worked with since I started in private practice more than two decades ago.  

I perform many of the same clinical services an internist does, but as a family practitioner, much of my work also involves routine office gynecology, including Pap smears, oral contraceptives and diagnosis of sexually transmitted diseases.

As a clinical instructor at NYU Langone Medical Center, I refer my patients to many of the most widely respected in-network specialists in the city.  Whether it's here in our office or with a specialist we refer you to, we hope you'll feel that someone is sensitive to your concerns, and giving you the care you look for in a doctor.

Compassionate and caring yet challenging, Anthony Freire, MA, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC, founded the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling & Clinical Supervision in New York City and works as a licensed psychotherapist and clinical director and supervisor.

Anthony’s specialties include trauma-informed care, psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He also provides counseling for other issues such as addiction, marriage difficulties, and relationships and organizational counseling.

Anthony earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from New York University and completed his residency at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. My name is Alexander Trost and I am a fellowship-trained Palliative Medicine Nurse Practitioner specializing in advanced illness symptom management and goals-of-care discussions. I have been practicing Palliative Medicine for approximately 8 years now. Prior to this, I worked as an emergency room nurse. I switched to Palliative Medicine due to a significant loss in my family. At that time, we were never offered the palliative care needed to lessen the trauma of a loved one’s final moments. That inspired me to learn the tools of relief palliative medicine offers so that no one else has to endure the failures of care my family did. Dr. Eidgah is a family physician and primary care provider serving the New York City community from his practice in the East Village. Dr. Eidgah sees patients from around the surrounding area including Union Square and Downtown New York. He holds the American Board of Family Medicine certification and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

About Our Practice

Thomas S. Ziering, MD, is a compassionate family practitioner serving patients in Morristown, New Jersey. Having practiced traditional family medicine for more than 30 years, Dr. Ziering has an exceptional career and the unique privilege and perspective of treating ALL patients and families regardless of gender identity, sexual identity, or medical issue. He has delivered more than 150 newborns in his career and many of the children he has cared for now bring their children and families to him.

Dr. Ziering graduated from Rutgers University Medical School in Newark and completed his residency at RWJ University Somerset Medical Center in 1990 where he was honored as the Top Resident Educator. Notably, he was part of the initial clinical trials as a clinical researcher for HIV illness during the HIV crisis in 1992. He is now one of the only private practices to treat and teach PrEP, PEP, and HIV care, as well as hormone therapy for men, women, and trans patients.

Sharing his wealth of knowledge and dedicated to education, Dr. Ziering lectures nationally and statewide and has been integral in teaching physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical students, residents, physicians, and faculty at many of New Jersey’s various programs. Prashanth Mannam, MD, has over 20 years of experience as an internist and primary care provider. He offers patient-focused care to patients aged 12 and older at Mannam Medical & Wellness in the Soundview neighborhood of The Bronx in New York City. 

Dr. Mannam completed his training in medicine in Madras, India. He earned his medical degree at the Madras Medical College and served his internship at the Madras Medical College General Hospital. 

After spending a year honing his skills as a primary care physician at Kommalapati Nursing Home in Ongole, India, he moved to the United States, where he completed his internal medicine residency at New York’s Montefiore North Medical Center in The Bronx. He has since become a member of the American Medical Association and is board-certified in internal medicine.
