She graduated from West Mesa High School, obtained her Bachelors's and Masters's degrees from Chamberlain University in Jacksonville, FL, and is currently working towards a doctoral degree in Nursing at Chamberlain. As a registered nurse, she specialized in cardiovascular critical care. As a nurse practitioner, she has experience in LTC/Post-Acute care, Primary Care, and Integrative Medicine.
Lucia Marquez-Valdepena, NP, is an enthusiastic, bilingual, and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Guadalupe Psychiatric and Mental Health Services. She is eager to serve the mental health community in Rio Rancho and Los Lunas, New Mexico, and welcomes new patients to the practice.
Lucia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas at El Paso before pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner) at the same institution. She also holds a post-graduate certificate as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) from Liberty University.
In previous roles, Lucia served as a mentor and leader to 100+ RNs, won the "Nurse Excellence" award from Del Sol Medical Center, and was a successful medical doctor in Mexico for several years. She has extensive supervisory and leadership experience in hospital, emergency, and primary care outpatient clinical settings. Lucia is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP), and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
