Dr. Bennett is the founder and CEO of Vista Wellness & Medical Weight Loss Center. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice (DNP). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from George Mason University in Virginia and a Master of science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas Health Center in San Antonio. She also holds a Post Master certificate in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She later received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wilmington University in Delaware.
Dr. Bennett is a US Army veteran and served in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). She is passionate about health and wellness with a goal of improving public health by treating obesity. She has undergone extensive training in weight management and health optimization since completing her college degrees. She is also certified in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy.
JoAnn brings with her knowledge from over 20 years of diverse experience in the medical field. Starting as an EMT, her desire for a better understanding of the human body and its conditions as well as a desire to help those in need, have brought her to where she is today. Initially completing a degree in Emergency Medical Services in Florida, JoAnn then moved to Kentucky where she completed her bachelor's and then master's degree from Spalding University. Much of her nursing career has been spent working in intensive care units caring for critically ill or injured. For several years, she also worked as adjunct faculty for Bellarmine University as well as University of Louisville School of Nursing. Outside of work, JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family as well as her 4-legged kids (Dogs).
