Maged Boutros, MD, is the CEO and Medical director of Prevention Clinics who obesity board-certified and a board-certified internist who started Prevention Clinics, which has locations in Maywood and Clifton, New Jersey. 

Dr. Boutros started developing a deep interest in integrative medicine and obesity medicine at the end of his fourth year of practice when he was doing his fellowship in anti-aging and integrative medicine. In addition to being a caring and pleasant doctor, he is a dynamic leader and serves on multiple hospital committees to help implement positive change. With nearly 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Boutros has successfully assisted over 15,000 patients since 2003.

Benjamin J Scopellite MS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant. He received his bachelor's in Biology from Seton Hall University in 2019, and Subsequently his Masters's as a Physician Assistant from Seton Hall University in 2021.

Benjamin has always had a great interest in orthopedic surgery and since graduating as a PA in 2021 he has worked in orthopedics.

During his practice he has seen patients in the emergency and inpatient hospital setting as well as the outpatient clinic; in addition to acting as a surgical first assist in a wide variety of orthopedic procedures.

Benjamin joined Orthocenter in 2022. His primary responsibilities include assisting the surgeons in the operating room and seeing patients at both Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Medical Center. Benjamin also sees patients in the outpatient office setting.

 

 

Alexander C. Scopellite MS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant who has been employed with the OrthoCenter since 2019. Alex received his Masters as a Physician Assistant from Seton Hall University 2019. He has always had a passion for the orthopaedic medical field which he discovered working at Bayshore Medical Center in the OR during his undergraduate and graduate education.

Alex currently functions as the managing PA-C for the practice. His primary responsibilities include assisting all the surgeons in the practice in the operating room, as well as seeing patients admitted to the hospital and in the emergency room at Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Medical Center. Alex will perform bedside fracture and dislocation reductions, application of splints, application of wound vac systems, and intra-articular joint injections/aspirations.

Alex also occasionally sees patients in the outpatient office setting; evaluating new patients, managing patients in the post-operative period, and see patients for routine repeat injections.

Dr. Elad Tennen is a Board-Certified Sports Medicine Physician who provides expert care to patients at Orthocenter. Dr. Tennen specializes in Non-Operative Sports Medicine with experience treating Musculoskeletal injuries and systemic athletic conditions from your weekend warrior to the professional athlete.

Dr. Tennen received his undergraduate degree in Biology with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry from Ramapo College of New Jersey, graduating with Honors. Following graduation, Dr. Tennen went on to Ross University School of Medicine for his Medical Degree. After receiving his Medical Degree Dr. Tennen completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Elmhurst Hospital in affiliation with Mount Sinai Hospital.

After his Internship, Dr. Tennen completed his Residency in Family Medicine from the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset NJ. After Residency, Dr. Tennen completed an ACGME Accredited Fellowship at Atlantic Sports Health in Morristown NJ. While in Fellowship, Dr. Tennen’s training involved providing sideline medical coverage for the New York Jets, Division I athletes from Seton Hall University and a private hockey league.

Dr. Tennen practices non-surgical techniques, using conservative measures to allow patients to rehabilitate from their injuries. His Primary Care background allows for treatment of Non-Orthopaedic / medical injuries in athletes ranging from concussion management/return to play, athletic fatigue, overtraining, exercised induced asthma, as well as management of athletes with other chronic medical conditions. Dr. Tennen is a New Jersey native who was raised nearby in Marlboro NJ. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching football and following the fitness industry. T. Cristina Sardinha, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified surgeon on the team at Progressive Surgical Care, an exceptional surgery practice with locations in Manhasset Hills in New Hyde Park and the Lindenwood area in Howard Beach, New York. She specializes in general surgery and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Sardinha was born, raised, educated, and trained in Brazil. She earned her medical degree from Bahian School of Medicine and Public Health and completed residencies in general and trauma surgery at the University of Sao Paulo, including working under the leadership of internationally renowned colorectal surgeon Dr. Angelita Habr-Gama.

Dr. Sardinha eventually relocated to the United States and completed a research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic campus in Florida and a general surgery chief residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York. She returned to the Cleveland Clinic in Florida for a clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery under the leadership of Dr. Steven Wexner.

With more than 20 years of experience as a surgeon, Dr. Sardinha is highly regarded in her field. She’s certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, has authored numerous publications, and frequently speaks at international surgical conferences.

She is president-elect for the New York Surgical Society and will be the second female president ever in the oldest, most prestigious surgical organization in the country. She’s admired by her peers, is the doctor’s doctor, and has won numerous awards for surgical education.

She has been elected voluntary attending surgeon of the year at Long Island Jewish Medical Center two times. She is most proud of the “Straight from the Heart” award given to her as the most compassionate surgeon at LIJMC.

About Our Practice

Thomas S. Ziering, MD, is a compassionate family practitioner serving patients in Morristown, New Jersey. Having practiced traditional family medicine for more than 30 years, Dr. Ziering has an exceptional career and the unique privilege and perspective of treating ALL patients and families regardless of gender identity, sexual identity, or medical issue. He has delivered more than 150 newborns in his career and many of the children he has cared for now bring their children and families to him.

Dr. Ziering graduated from Rutgers University Medical School in Newark and completed his residency at RWJ University Somerset Medical Center in 1990 where he was honored as the Top Resident Educator. Notably, he was part of the initial clinical trials as a clinical researcher for HIV illness during the HIV crisis in 1992. He is now one of the only private practices to treat and teach PrEP, PEP, and HIV care, as well as hormone therapy for men, women, and trans patients.

Sharing his wealth of knowledge and dedicated to education, Dr. Ziering lectures nationally and statewide and has been integral in teaching physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical students, residents, physicians, and faculty at many of New Jersey’s various programs. Dr. Ziering was also the former Medical Director of LGBTQI Services for a private medical corporation from 2015-2017. Most recently he was a speaker at the New Jersey Academy of Family Medicine in the first lecture on LGBTQI Medicine for Physicians in Practice.

Dr. Ziering, whose patients endearingly refer to as Tom, has had the privilege of electives in England (Oncology), Miami, Florida (Dermatology), and Dallas, Texas (Cardiology). Having been in Medical Education, Medical Administration, Concierge Medicine and Corporate Medicine, Dr. Ziering has found his passion as a healer to be most effective in Private Practice. By not limiting patient visits to 5-10 minutes, he has found the most comfortable and most involved method of practice with a half-hour to one-hour visit, depending on health issues. In this manner, multiple medical issues and mental health issues can be addressed often in one visit. Furthermore, the ‘exam rooms’ are set up more like small living rooms with home furnishings, aromatherapy, sound soothers and artwork conducive to a calm and relaxed discussion. Dr. Lum is the primary Emergency Medicine physician at Forest Urgent Care. He graduated from SUNY Stony Brook Medical School and did his residency at NYU/ Bellevue Hospital. He has over 20 years of experience as an emergency room doctor at some of the best hospitals in New York including:  Columbia Hospital  and Montefiore Hospital. He practiced  in Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Because of Dr. Lum’s vast amount of experience, he’s able to address a wide variety of patient needs.
