Val has over 14 years of healthcare and management experience. Dr. Brewington grew up in California and completed her medical training on the east coast, but has considered Colorado her home since moving here in 2003. Following residency, she opened her own clinic in Ft. Collins and later joined a small private practice, where she cared for patients until her youngest son was born. She then stayed home to focus on raising her two boys before relocating to Boulder County, and joined Westmed in 2017. Her favorite activities outside of clinic include reading, crafts, hiking, and doing just about anything with family.

Sarah Sato, NP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner and one of the co-founders of The Alpine Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism, PC located in Superior, Colorado. Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She went on to earn both her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Nursing at Columbia University in New York City, where she was part of the Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. As part of her training, Sarah worked as a registered nurse at the Manhattan Children's Center and student nurse practitioner at the Neighborhood Family and Health Center in the Bronx.
