I am a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a master’s degree in nursing, which I completed in May of 2020. My nursing experience was largely in the emergency department with some medical-surgical experience. My experience as a nurse practitioner includes family care across the lifespan in a rural clinic setting. I also have experience in health risk assessments and chronic care management, as well as routine follow-up visits and urgent care visits. I am comfortable and proficient in managing chronic disease, as well as mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. I feel that many health conditions can be managed with a healthy lifestyle including dietary management and physical activity, and I feel strongly in educating my patients on how to properly manage their conditions in order to empower them. I am passionate about helping others live their most fulfilling, healthy lives.

Dr. Eva Stephens is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has an earned Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and a Master’s Degree (MSN) Family Nurse Practitioner from Howard University, Washington, D.C. Dr. Stephens has practiced over 25 years focusing on Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine Across the Lifespan in variety of clinical settings; including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Weight management & Women’s Health. The nucleus of her last 4 years providing care via telehealth platform. Prior to her Telemedicine Urgent Care Practice, she served as Associate Professor at University of Texas Medical Branch; Track Administrator for the Graduate Nurse Educator Program, Assistant Professor, Howard University and Faculty, Coppin State University. Amberlee Montarella is an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner who received her undergraduate education at the University of Central Arkansas and completed her graduate studies at Georgetown University. With over six years of practice in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Urgent Care, and Addiction Medicine, she is well-versed in providing comprehensive healthcare. Board-certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine, Andrea Pana, MD, has treated patients in various settings since 1994. Her expertise is in Sports Medicine and the care of Musculoskeletal Injuries. Dr. Pana sees patients throughout Austin and San Antonio, Texas, at Serenity Medical Centers. 

After receiving her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from George Washington University, Dr. Pana completed a Family Medicine Residency at UCLA and a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. She also served as a physician in the United States Air Force. 

Dr. Pana has treated athletes for every major college sport as well as professional and Olympic athletes. She served on the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine Board from 2008-2012. 

Academically, Dr. Pana has been involved in educating physician assistants, medical students, residents, and athletic training students. She has several publications relating to concussions in athletes and has assisted in editing the 5 Minute Sports Medicine Consult. Dr. Pana has joined Serenity Medical Group to help care for patients with work-related injuries and active patients in the area with musculoskeletal or sports-related injuries. 

In her free time, Dr. Pana enjoys swimming and walking. She also enjoys movies and exploring all the local family-friendly events with her 8-year-old son.

Barbara Kiersz-Mueller, D.O., is a board-certified family physician who has specialized expertise in headaches, ADHD, sports injuries and child development. Dr. Kiersz Mueller treats patients at the Austin branch of THINK Neurology for Kids in Texas.

Dr Kiersz-Mueller was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to Florida with her parents and siblings at the age of 15. Dr. Kiersz-Mueller majored in chemical biology for her undergraduate studies at Stevens Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science. After graduating in 2010, she enrolled at the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine to complete her medical degree.

Dr. Kiersz-Mueller undertook her internship in family and osteopathic medicine at the Medical College of Georgia from 2014-2015, and completed her residency in family and community medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences San Antonio from 2015-2017, where she served as chief resident during her senior year. She joined THINK Neurology for Kids in 2020. Dr. Kiersz-Mueller holds certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.

When she is not devoting her time to young patients, Dr. Kiersz-Mueller takes great pleasure in spending time with her husband and hiking and paddle-boarding with their Dachshund. In December, 2019, Dr Kiersz Mueller became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, which she hopes to someday integrate with her practice in order to promote self-confidence and strength in her patients.

 

Brianna Kay, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at Heights Dermatology in New Braunfels and Gonzales and San Antonio.

She earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012. After graduation, Brianna sub-specialized in medical and surgical dermatology and completed a 10-month internship with a board-certified dermatologist in New Braunfels, TX. 

She earned the title of Diplomate Fellow under the Society of Dermatology PAs (SDPA). The SDPA Fellowship Program represents the standard in dermatology physician assistant education, allowing graduates to demonstrate that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional patient care in dermatology.

Brianna has been practicing dermatology for over nine years. She is passionate about patient education and preventative medicine, focusing on helping her patients to understand their health and skin care needs. She advocates for skin cancer prevention and takes the time to address her patient's questions and concerns. 

Due to personal experiences, Brianna takes a special interest in auto-immune conditions, such as psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa. Whether treating complex auto-immune diseases, or more common skin conditions such as acne or eczema, she has a very thorough and proactive approach to help her patients reach their maximum quality of life!

When Brianna is not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage daughter. Growing up in a military family, she frequently moved as a child and found a love for traveling. Mrs. Taylor Ely was born in San Antonio, Texas and spent her childhood enjoying the beauty of Helotes and Bandera, Texas. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at University of North Texas. She attended UT Medical Branch at Galveston, enjoying the Texas coast while obtaining her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Through the years Taylor has greatly enjoyed working in a primary care setting. She focuses on building strong relationships with her patients by creating a comfortable space to achieve health goals. She treats a variety of acute and chronic illnesses, preventative exams including well woman exams, and minor in office procedures. Taylor married her high school sweetheart, Ben and they now have two beautiful daughters. She enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, exercising, spending time with her family, and watching her daughters grow up in the great Texas Hill Country. Taylor also enjoys traveling and discovering new places. Her family loves spending time outdoors at local parks and her family ranch.

Jordan C. Williams, MD is a Family Physician from Longview, TX. He completed his medical training at Saint Matthew’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the rural branch of the University of Cincinnati. He believes the patient-provider relationship is essential for effective and compassionate care. Dr. Williams treats many chronic and acute diseases, performs minor office procedures and provides primary care counseling as well. He worked in Sarasota, Florida providing primary and urgent care and recently provided primary care for the United States Air Force in San Antonio, TX.

Susanne Brandt, RN, MSN, FNP-C, is a dedicated family nurse practitioner at Lonestar Medical in New Braunfels, Texas, with over 30 years of nursing experience. 

Born in San Antonio, Susanne traveled extensively before returning home in 1993. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Texas in El Paso and her master's degree in nursing from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, becoming a family nurse practitioner. Board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Susanne specializes in family medicine and focuses on building lasting relationships with her patients and their families.

At Lonestar Medical, Susanne is passionate about preventive care. She offers services such as well-woman exams and expertly manages chronic conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. Her extensive experience equips her with a deep understanding of the nursing profession, enabling her to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Outside of her clinical practice, Susanne loves spending quality time with her four grandchildren, exploring museums, attending art exhibits, and enjoying musical performances. Her commitment to family values and community well-being underscores her holistic approach to healthcare.

Dr. Matthew Rodgers trained at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and joins the practice after retiring from the Army after a 27-year career.  He is board certified in family medicine and sleep medicine with a focus on sleep medicine for the past 10 years.   He was the Army medical director for the virtual medical center for two years focusing on providing synchronous and asynchronous virtual health care throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Dr. Rodgers created virtual sleep medicine clinics to provide sleep testing and treatment to sites in four countries and eight sites, throughout Europe. Professionally he enjoys narcolepsy, sleep apnea and the complex interactions between sleep and PTSD.  Dr. Rodgers likes football, basketball, and baseball.  But ironically wasn’t good at any of them, so he played rugby for eight years and wrestled for fourteen and coached wrestling for five years.

Dr. Amy Meoli has been practicing sleep medicine for over 20 years. She trained at the University of Missouri-Kansas City prior to her sleep fellowship at Allegheny University in Philadelphia. She is board-certified in sleep medicine. Dr. Meoli says she recognized the changes in patient needs related to sleep issues, and the growing time constraint people have to manage. She believes Sliiip is a progressive move to accommodate patient needs. Dr.Meoli is excited to be a part of this organization. Besides work, she enjoys time with her puppies. She loves to travel and cook.

 

More than a doctor’s office, Dr. Georgeanne Freeman runs a family medicine wellness clinic, Downtown Doctor, centrally located in Austin for those who live, work, or play in the downtown area.

Texas born and bred, Dr. Freeman grew up in Houston.  Growing up in Houston gave Dr. Freeman the opportunity to become a passionate surfer. She was able to surf the Freeport pier, Galveston beach during storms and various Mexico beaches. It may surprise you to know that you can surf a 2-3 foot wave. Dr. Freeman explains that in Texas, surfers use styrofoam boards when the waves are flat. The longer the board, the easier it is to catch small waves. 

After Houston, she spent a number of years living and practicing medicine in rural America - namely in the Appalachian Mountains and the Ozark Mountains. Her love of Austin began during high school when she spent a summer session at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. Over the ensuing years she visited friends and family in the area, falling deeper and deeper in love with Central Texas.

On her way back to Texas, Dr. Freeman made stopovers in Portland, OR to complete her undergraduate degree; in Johnson City, TN where she completed a Master of Public Health degree at East Tennessee State University; in Des Moines, IA to complete her Doctorate in Osteopathy at the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (now Des Moines University); in Kingsport TN for a rotating internship; and then finished up her residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle.

There is often confusion when differentiating between a physician with a medical degree (MD) and a physician with a doctorate in osteopathic medicine (DO). MDs and DOs are similarly educated and certified, but there are differences in their training and philosophy of patient care. You will find that most MDs practice allopathic medicine, a more traditional medicine based on diagnosis and treatment of specific diseases where a DO approaches the “whole person” to reach a diagnosis rather than treating symptoms. In addition, DOs are trained in osteopathic manipulation treatment (OMT), the therapeutic application of manual techniques to address the changes in body structure to improve physiologic function. As a DO, Dr. Freeman believes in tapping into the innate healing properties we all have by using internal and external methods of healing.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Freeman has worked in emergency rooms, hospitals, and clinics. She is also trained in bio-identical hormones and botox and juvederm cosmetic procedures. As a country doctor, she learned a lot about medicine and made house calls. A favorite memory is delivering flu shots on horseback with insulated saddlebags to an elderly couple who lived nearby.
