Morgan Busse received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington in 2011 and worked as an inpatient OB nurse for 8 years at a busy urban hospital in Seattle, Washington. Her love for nursing and the desire to create life-long partnerships with patients and families led her back to the University of Washington where she graduated with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, specializing as a family nurse practitioner in 2020. She received her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at University of Northern Colorado and a masters in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University. She then completed residency with Durant Family Medicine in Oklahoma learning to care for a rural population and help an underserved population manage their health. He obtained his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, on a U.S. Army scholarship. Dr. Newman completed his internal medicine residency at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado (now the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus).
Dr. Newman spent the next four years as a staff internist at the U.S. Army Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. He left military service in 1997 and joined the staff of the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he was also an assistant professor of medicine, teaching medical students and residents.
After three years in primary care internal medicine, he sought specialty training and rejoined the Army to do so.
