Very professional from the moment you walk in until you leave. Them front receptionist group has your filed pulled and is ready for your appointment. Medical tech takes you to exam room and reviews your meds, medical info, and taShow morekes vitals in a relaxed way. Most importantly, Dr.Delaney is one of the special Doctors whom makes you feel she is 100% focussed on you and your pain condition. Dr.Delaney really listens to your explanation of your condition, asks questions and there is a good back and forth discussion about symptoms, possible causes and possible treatments. You don’t feel at all rushed in the process, which is unusual in today’s medical practices. Dr.Delaney’s diagnostic and treatment style most importantly results, are what I hoped for from a pain Doctor. Follow up by the Doctor and staff is great as to, pain after treatment, any testing required, test results, medication, and future appointments. I’ve been to John Muir, UCSF, Stanford, and this is where I received the best care and results and are the most comfortable during the process.
I really appreciated what happened during my first visit with Dr. Delaney. I recently had back surgery and unfortunately have not been relieved of my very serious pain. Dr. Delaney recommended a steroid injection and made time in Show moreher schedule to do it that same day. This was fantastic as I live one hour away. Now, I'm hoping for some relief as the medicine does its job. Many thanks for accommodating me and making the effort to get me better.

Got questions for
Balanced Pain Management?
Meet Dr. DeLaney
Leslie DeLaney, MD, is a board-certified pain management specialist at Balanced Pain Management in Walnut Creek, California. She considers it a unique honor to serve patients in the East Bay region in Northern California.
Dr. DeLaney became interested in the field of pain management while she was still a medical student at the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was during her anesthesiology rotation that she was introduced to this sub-specialty and was impressed by the doctors’ ability to perform nerve blocks to stop pain that patients, until then, had no choice but to “live with it.” Those doctors were able to relieve patients’ suffering quickly and profoundly, and they inspired her to do the same. It was at that point that she decided to do an anesthesiology residency and become a pain management specialist.
Dr. DeLaney received her training in anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Johns Hopkins Hospital continues to be the #1 training hospital in the world. In addition to learning in-depth pharmacology, physiology, and intraoperative anesthesiology, she learned about acute and chronic pain and worked with some of the pioneers in pain management while doing electives there.
Dr. DeLaney then chose to receive her formal pain management training in interventional pain medicine at The Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland Clinic is world-renowned and the top hospital in the country for the treatment of chronic pain. During her fellowship, Dr. DeLaney concentrated on learning how to treat patients with intractable pain using injection techniques, medication management, and integrating psychology and physical therapy into a plan that would allow people to have a better quality of life.
Dr. DeLaney took her first position as a fully trained pain management specialist at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. She achieved the rank of Assistant Professor and maintained a successful pain management practice that involved treating all types of acute and chronic pain syndromes. Dr. DeLaney was also responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows about the disease of chronic pain and how to treat it successfully.
Dr. DeLaney is board certified in both chronic pain management and anesthesiology and has published multiple papers on chronic pain management. She continues to give lectures at local and national medical meetings on pain management.
She is a member of the California Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Pain Association, the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain.

My visit to the office of Dr. DeLaney was a consultation about pain in my left shoulder. I left feeling that the meeting went well and all issues were discussed.
Very good experience with staff and Doctor!
Very caring and professional. Drr. Delaney explores and asks about your concerns regarding your medical health. She's an excellent Dr. I highly recommend her.
She’s been my doc since I moved here in 2018. I’ve had horrific post op back pain since 2004. I’ve been on all kinds of pain medications ~~ the only result being left foggy or in more pain. Now… the pain has lessened to where it’s tolerable. I’m very happy with Dr DeLaney. She is a concerned doc who will work with you to help achieve your goals. Plus, her staff is excellent! Audrey
You are the best !!!!!! please continue to help me with my back problems and any other problems that I am starting to have, you have always been there for me it and it means a lot to me. The medicines that you give to me help with my pain management. Thank you for being there when I need your help. Cathy Frost
I am blessed to have Dr. Leslie DeLaney as part of my medical team. She is an exceptional doctor and stays current on treatment options. Dr. Delaney is a compassionate listener who fully explains her recommendations and follows up with me to make sure selected treatments are effective. Her incredible team is amazing and I am always warmly greeted both in-person and by phone.

She tried to help me at my first visit. I have a lot of pain and issues but I believe she will help me get my pain managed. She gave me hope.

I’m very happy. I was able to get a full nights sleep with taking medication. Dr Delaney is fast and effective which I appreciate with a busy schedule.
Dr Delaney did the MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) procedure for me which fixed my lower back pain - I can walk without my back bothering me! She is kind and patient and professional. Highly recommended.
Dr. De Laney was warm and welcoming, listened well and answered questions in an unhurried manner, and with terms that lay people can understand. She laid out plans that were clear and respectful of my needs. Nursing Assistant, Jessica, was attentive and worked to accommodate to my schedule for follow up. The broken elevator (for any patients to access the second floor) is a barrier to care because the steep inclines were difficult for me to navigate safely. This is not a new issue and the landlord is delinquent and putting compromised patients at risk.
Very Professional. Sending time with me , listening and explaining what is going on and how to take care of my lower back.
Dr DeLaney is always on time, listening and professional. I thin I swing her for 7-8 years and I'm glad I have a Dr with such a dedication and correctitude. Would strongly recommend her services.
She knows what she is doing, she is an excellent doctor, she asks you questions that you can respond to and is a very good listener. She will give you some suggestions as to what can be done for you.
I would strongly recommend Dr. Delaney. I’ve been seeing her approximately two years. She has been very helpful with my neck Issues. I have been pain-free on my neck. Equally important she is easy to talk to, and fully explains whatever procedures she can, or cannot do. The staff is helpful and very informative, answering questions and making appointments.
LISTENS, SEES, HEARS, RELIEVES PAIN,TAKES CARE..SHE IS AN EXCELENT PHYSICIAN
Dr Delaney's professionalism shows every visit and her staff are quick to help and make patients comfortable.
Great first impression!
I felt like Dr DeLaney was listening and hearing my concerns
Patiently explains procedures and alternatives
Dr DeLaney takes the time to listen and provides feedback. I was able to get 2 epidural blocks within a short amount of time. I would still be waiting for the first at another spine specialty center.
Successful treatment of my scoliosis.
I had high hopes for this appointment but sadly it wasn't good at all. I generally have high self-esteem, but Dr. Delaney made me feel terrible. I answered the 5 pages of questions and the tech's additional questions, Dr Delaney's demeanor was more like an interrogation than a Dr visit. For someone whose job it is to deal with people in pain, she seems to have no compassion. She had additional rapid fire questions for me and she seemed annoyed if I didn't have an exact answer. She said things like . "You've had this pain for 20 years, so why are you here? Really? She seemed annoyed at my primary care doctor's prescriptions for me. She was flip in her answers to me like "we all get that when we get older." Okay but that doesn't mean it hurts less! She seemed to imply that the condition my neck is in, is somehow my fault. The bottom line is that I didn't feel as though I got to ask questions or that my concerns were addressed. She seemed to have zero empathy or compassion. She offered next to nothing in solutions and made me feel like a wasted her time. I really couldn't say this was a positive experience!
Never a long wait, Friendly knowledgeable doctor and staff .
Dr. Delany has given me my life back. I'm more motivated and mobile because I have less pain.
She is a terrific doctor and person.
Dr. Delaney is very professional and kind!! Great doctor!
Dr DeLaney and the staff are wonderful. I am so pleased that Dr DeLaney is very compassionate and has helped me so much to manage my pain. I definitely would recommend Dr Delaney for pain management.
Warm, friendly & knowledgeable.
