After earning a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, Dr. Schwartz received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. He then completed a two-year residency in internal medicine at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. He went on to complete a five-year fellowship in otolaryngology, head, and neck surgery at USC.
Dr. Schwartz was one of the first cosmetic surgeons to study and perform the tumescent technique of liposuction and liposculpture in Los Angeles in the 1990s, and was also a pioneer of the SmartlipoⓇ laser. He has continued to complete advanced training in VASER Hi-Def Liposuction, as well as cosmetic procedures such as breast surgery and cutting-edge techniques for abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) procedures.

Ashley Dao, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Dao is a valuable part of the team of ear, nose, and throat specialists at Beach Cities ENTS in Torrance, California.
Dr. Dao completed her Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She received her medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed her otolaryngology residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Since graduating in 2018, she has excelled at providing exceptional care to men, women, and children in the South Bay.
Dr. Dao has expertise is in treating a wide range of conditions including sleep apnea, snoring, sinus infections, nasal congestion, and head and neck cancer. She offers minimally invasive, in-office procedures for treating sudden hearing loss and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
As the resident expert in treating sleep surgery, Dr. Dao has specialized training in using the Inspire® hypoglossal nerve stimulator implant to treat obstructive sleep apnea. This is a new and innovative breakthrough treatment option even when CPAP has failed.

Maher Sesi, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist and a valuable part of the team at Beach Cities ENTS in Torrance, California. Dr. Sesi has more than 25 years of experience as an ear, nose, and throat doctor, specializing in the care of children of all ages as well as adults.
Dr. Sesi began his formal education at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with high distinction. He received his Medical Doctorate from Wayne State University of Medicine in Detroit and completed an internship in General Surgery at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights and William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. In 1990, he completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Sesi is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a passionate provider who excels in pediatric ENT solutions that include tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear tube placement, treatment of neck masses, and tongue tie procedures. Brett Levine, MD, is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology as an ear, nose, and throat specialist (ENT) with expertise in minimally invasive nasal and sinus surgeries. Dr. Levine is an integral part of the team at Beach Cities ENTS in Torrance, California, where he offers advanced surgical treatments to men, women, and children.
Dr. Levine began his formal education at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, where he received a Bachelor of Science in biology, magna cum laude. For his medical education, he studied at Keck School of Medicine of USC, as part of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.
He completed residencies in surgery and otorhinolaryngology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, studying under the direction of David Kennedy, MD, an internationally recognized leader in endoscopic sinus and nasal surgery. He also completed a fellowship in plastic facial surgery, under the direction of Walter Berman, MD, of Beverly Hills, California.

Benjamin Rafii, MD, is board-certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery with special expertise in the treatment of voice, airway, throat, and swallowing disorders, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He treats patients at Beach Cities ENTS in Torrance, California.
Dr. Rafii began his education in his hometown of Los Angeles at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he graduated magna cum laude with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Science in molecular, cell, and developmental biology. He then moved to the Bay Area for medical school, where he completed his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine. He continued his education in New York City, where he completed an internship and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at New York University School of Medicine before finally returning to Los Angeles for a highly coveted fellowship in laryngology and care of the professional voice at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Voice Center for Medicine and the Arts.
Dr. Rafii has extensive experience in treating elite singers, actors, and other vocal professionals. He uses advanced techniques and state-of-the-art technology to treat a wide range of conditions affecting the voice, throat, and airway. He is an expert in providing awake, in-office vocal cord procedures, including vocal cord injections, biopsies, and laser therapy.
Dr. Rafii’s fellowship-honed experience in preserving the nerves of the voice box, in combination with his training under many of the best thyroid surgeons in New York City, also give him a unique skill set in the surgical treatment of patients with benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, using delicate vocal cord nerve-sparing techniques.
Dr. Rafii believes strongly in the principle of delivering thoughtful, detailed, and compassionate medical care that is individualized to the unique needs of each patient. He also values the principle of life-long learning, and holds a volunteer faculty position at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he teaches and supervises surgical residents on a monthly basis.
