Stephen L. Segebrecht, MD, has been practicing otolaryngology head and neck surgery in Lawrence since 1984. He received his undergraduate degree here in Lawrence at the University of Kansas. He went on to medical school, also at the University of Kansas, receiving the Orr Surgery Award and AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha) Award for his high marks. After completing an internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Segebrecht did his residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center where he developed a focus for surgery of the ear. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has been an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery since 1984. Dr. Segebrecht is the former director and a current board member of K2K (Kansas to Kenya), an organization that works in conjunction with several other organizations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Kenya. Dr. Segebrecht has made several trips to Africa providing medical care and implementing programs that help serve the local community. In addition to medicine, Dr. Segebrecht enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He is an active participant in his church and serves as a Boy Scout leader. He also enjoys spending time outdoors (hiking, canoeing, sailing, etc.) with his family.

Upon graduating from medical school, he completed a surgical internship and otolaryngology residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York. He also contributed to research related to parathyroid gland function from the University of Rochester and on cancer and diseases of the immune system from the University of Kansas. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has been an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery since 1995. Dr. Reussner is the director of the Kansas Voice Center, specializing in the treatment of voice and throat disorders/diseases, including cancer and thyroid disease. He is able to offer the latest minimally invasive surgical approaches for parathyroid surgery as well. He previously served on the Board of Directors at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and teaches a course on American Healthcare at the University of Kansas.
