James Connolly, MD, is a dedicated otolaryngologist at SLENT, a leading otolaryngology practice with multiple locations across Louisiana. Dr. Connolly serves patients at our Mandeville and Covington offices.
Born and raised in Uptown New Orleans, Dr. Connolly attended Metairie Park Country Day High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Millsaps College. After his undergraduate studies, he spent a year at LSU Medical Center (Lyons Clinic), conducting research on nerve regeneration and assisting with cornea transplant procedures.
In 2000, Dr. Connolly obtained his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to complete an internship in General Surgery, followed by a Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Dr. Connolly is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, with a sub-specialty in Sleep Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and he holds active memberships with the Louisiana Academy of Sleep Medicine (LASM), Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS), and St. Tammany Medical Society (STPMS).

Dr. McManus has been serving the Slidell area since 2022 and is thrilled to be part of the SLENT family. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, followed by his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, gaining expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ENT medical and surgical conditions.
Dedicated to patient-centered care, Dr. McManus takes the time to understand his patients' health concerns and develops personalized treatment plans. His special interests include managing sinus conditions, diagnosing sleep apnea, addressing hearing loss, treating chronic ear infections, and managing allergy symptoms, among other ENT disorders.
Outside the office, Dr. McManus loves staying active and enjoying the natural beauty of Louisiana with his wife and children. Growing up on the Northshore and attending Jesuit High School in New Orleans, he has a deep connection to the area. He spends weekends visiting farmers markets, supporting local shops and restaurants, exploring bike and walking trails, fishing, hunting, camping, enjoying watersports, and cooking—all activities he’s passionate about. A native of South Louisiana, Dr. Sorrel graduated as valedictorian of his high school class. He then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned his degree in Biological Sciences with summa cum laude honors. He continued his education at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he received his medical degree.
It was during medical school that Dr. Sorrel met his wife, Emily, a neonatal ICU nurse and fellow LSUHSC graduate. Dr. Sorrel went on to complete a five-year residency in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he presented research nationally, published in respected journals, and received multiple awards for his contributions.

Katie received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She then earned her Physician Assistant degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She has over 20 years of experience in various medical specialties including internal medicine, otolaryngology, cosmetic surgery, and has recently joined our allergy team. She was born and raised in Orange, Tx and now resides in Beaumont. She is married with 2 children, and enjoys baking, doing crafts, and watching baseball in her spare time.

Ricardo Cristobal, MD, PhD, is board-certified in both otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and in neurotology, and skull base surgery. He proudly welcomes patients to his practice, Texas Ear Clinic, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Dr. Cristobal has been practicing full time in Fort Worth since 2008 and offers vast experience treating problems of the ear and skull base, including unilateral and bilateral hearing loss, chronically draining ears, balance disorders, facial nerve problems, and skull base tumors. He believes patients should take an active role in their treatment and takes time to educate them about their diseases. Dr. Cristobal actively engages and involves patients in all decisions throughout their care.
He completed a general surgery internship at the University of California, Los Angeles and subsequently graduated from the prestigious otolaryngology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then relocated to Houston, where he completed his Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine’s Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology.
Remaining in Los Angeles, Dr. Cristobal received his doctoral degree in Neurobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also studied internationally, earning his medical degree from the University of Navarra School of Medicine in Pamplona, Navarra, Spain.
As Fort Worth's only full-time neurotologist, Dr. Cristobal holds specialized training in the inner ear and balance conditions.
When not treating patients, Dr. Cristobal focuses on his research. He is currently studying hearing outcomes with implantable hearing devices, as well as the management of sudden hearing loss.
