Dr. Chinyere Agu is a board-certified Endocrinologist and an affiliate with State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Agu’s area of expertise is general endocrinology which includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of diabetes, obesity, thyroid, adrenal & pituitary gland disorders as well as lipid, hormonal and bone disorders. She completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Agu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree from University of Nigeria College of Medicine and completed a 3-year residency program in Internal Medicine at Harlem Medical Center in Affiliation with Columbia University. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists as well as Endocrine Society.

Dr. Hossein Moosavi began practicing as a General Dentist more than 10 years ago in several locations including New Jersey and Colorado. He received his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Denver. To have a better understanding of implant dentistry and to help in treatment planning for his patients, Dr. Moosavi spent a year as a preceptor and researcher at the UCLA Dental School Implant Center. While practicing as a General Dentist, Dr. Moosavi took a great interest in Endodontics and saving the natural dentition which led him to apply for an Endodontic Residency. Dr. Moosavi completed his Endodontic training at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, receiving a Masters in Dental Science and a Certificate in Endodontics. While at Rutgers he also completed a comprehensive training program in Implant Dentistry from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, which resulted in a further understanding of treatment planning for compromised and cracked teeth.
Dr. Moosavi’s continued passion for research was honored with the AAE/Dentsply Residents Award for his research presentation on “The Time Lapse between Completion of Endodontic Treatment and Restoration in a Dental School Setting” at the American Association of Endodontists annual meeting in New Orleans.
Dr. Moosavi enjoys research and teaching so much that he has become a part-time faculty member at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine teaching the next generation of dentists and endodontists. Dr. Moosavi is a Diplomate of The American Association of Endodontics, being a Board Certified Endodontist made him more committed to providing excellence in endodontic care. In his spare time, Dr. Moosavi enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, traveling, reading, and cooking. Dr. Lakhanpal completed her dental degree at New York University, where she achieved Honors in Faculty Practice and Honors in Research. After graduating from dental school, she completed hospital-based training at NYU Langone Hospital in Sunset Park.
Dr. Lakhanpal worked as a general dentist for many years prior to commencing specialty training in Endodontics at New York University. While in the specialty program, she provided care to underserved communities as part of an International Outreach in Cambodia. She also achieved an Honors in Teaching Endodontics and served as a member of the NYU Alumni Society. In addition, Dr. Lakhanpal completed research on the latest technologies available in performing root canals. Her experiences have been geared towards attaining the finest training and techniques.
Dr. Lakhanpal believes the finest training and techniques combined with clear communication make the recipe for success. Dr. Lakhanpal provides care that is personable, friendly, and understanding of individual needs. She provides dental care in a comfortable pain-free environment and prioritizes health, function, and esthetics.
Dr. Deborah Mansdorf attended Yeshiva University undergraduate and went on to pursue dentistry at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Mansdorf completed a general practice residency at Northwell Health Hospital. After practicing general dentistry for two years, she completed an endodontic residency at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mansdorf trained and volunteered with Magen David Adom as a medic and enjoys the ability to help people in all capacities. She enjoys passing on her knowledge to the future generation of dentists, and therefore serves as an attending at the Mount Sinai Hospital General Practice Residency Program, and also is a professor at Touro College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mansdorf demands excellence from herself and her work and does her best to provide a comfortable and safe environment for her patients. Dr. Mansdorf listens to her patients and is sure to cater her care to each individual's needs. She has perfected her craft in endodontic therapy and difficult root canal retreatment procedures.
When Dr. Steven .D. Kaplan was in elementary school, there were two things he enjoyed; interacting with others and working with his hands by playing music and writing songs. He truly feels that these two loves led him to become a dentist. By the age of 11, he was already telling people he was going to become a dentist after he shadowed and assisted at his family’s dentist's office.
Dr. Kaplan got his undergraduate degree at The University College of Arts and Sciences at NYU, where he graduated Cum Laude. Thereafter, Dr. Kaplan attended The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and graduated with honors in Biochemistry. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honors society, of which he is still a member.
Dr. Kaplan achieved the status of chief resident of Endodontics at the Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, NY, Assistant Professor of Endodontics at NYU Dental School, Associate attending at the Nassau County Medical Center, as well as published an article in The Journal of Oral Surgery and has been in private practice for 40 years.
Currently, Dr. Kaplan is a member of the Deans Policy Council at Touro College of Dental Medicine. He has lectured extensively on the topic of endodontics at several dental schools and study clubs as well as The Greater New York Dental Meeting. He is an esteemed member of several professional societies and has attained many honors in his field.
In his spare time, Dr. Kaplan enjoys writing songs and composing his own music. Spending time with his family and volunteering in his community

Dr. Marsheh earned his first Dental Degree overseas, and practiced in underserved areas for 2 years focusing on Endodontic treatment before he moved to the United States. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry, and earned his specialty degree in Endodontics in 2009 from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Marsheh practiced General Dentistry for 1 year before entering the Endodontic Program to experience complete patient care. He has provided endodontic therapy to many patients. While completing his specialty training, Dr. Marsheh conducted research at New York University focusing on “Anxiety toward Endodontic Treatment”.
Patrick Ng-a-fook, DDS, or “Dr. Pat,” at Smile Design Manhattan in Midtown West, New York City, began his education as an undergraduate at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York. In June 2002, he graduated with a bachelor of arts in economics, a minor in business, and a concentration in biology. This trio of interests encouraged him to further explore science and anatomy, as well as a career in dentistry.
In 2003, Dr. Pat enrolled at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, Virginia. There, he earned his doctor of dental surgery.
Following graduation, Dr. Pat enrolled in an advanced education in general dentistry residency at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, through Lutheran Medical Center. This experience helped Dr. Pat discover his passion for working with patients and presented him with the opportunity to train dental residents, something he always wanted to do.
Never one to slow down, Dr. Pat has also pursued an education in endodontics and earned a certificate from Lutheran Medical Center with a focus on surgical and nonsurgical endodontic treatment. His extensive knowledge and expertise in these areas established him as Smile Design Manhattan’s resident endodontic expert.
Dr. Pat is board eligible from the American Association of Endodontics. He’s also a proud member of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Association, and the American Association of Endodontists.
When he isn’t working to save or restore his patients’ teeth, you can find Dr. Pat traveling, trying out new cuisine, or spending time with his family.
