Jun “Cecilia” Zhao graduated from UT Austin with BS degree in nutrition in 1997 and Texas Woman's University with MS degree in nutrition in 2001. She started practicing clinical nutrition counseling in 1998 and then transition to diabetes education and counseling in outpatient diabetes centers, primary care and endocrinologist offices since 2001. She enjoys utilizing all the new innovations to help patient manage diabetes. At same time, she sees many barriers, emotional challenges, and financial burden face by patients in the chronic disease management. She is an empathetic “people’s person” and compassionate to help patients improve quality of life by simplifying eating regimen, minimizing the need for prescription medications and improving energy level and stamina.
Kit McKinney has been a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist for 30 years. A native of East Texas, Kit earned a BS in Sociology and Health from Texas A&M University. She continued her studies in clinical nutrition at The University of Texas Pan American before completing a fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. Kit's passion is educating and empowering patients to prevent long term complications caused by diabetes and other chronic diseases. Drawing from three decades of clinical expertise, Kit co-founded MNT Associates to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare and accessible nutrition therapy. Kit's practice stands out through its commitment to both patient care and healthcare provider partnerships. She works closely with primary care physicians and specialists to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care that delivers measurable and meaningful outcomes for both patients and providers.
