He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University, where he also tutored chemistry, physics, and the classics. Four years later, after receiving his medical degree from Columbia University in New York, Dr. Muccini returned to Boston and Harvard University for postgraduate medical training. During this time, he trained at all of the major Harvard teaching hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital and Deaconess Hospital; and he completed an internship in General Surgery, a fellowship and residency in Dermatology, and a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Muccini is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the Missouri Dermatological Society, and the American Medical Association (AMA). He is also a member of the St. Louis Dermatological Society and has served as the organization’s president.
Anastasia Averbukh, MSN, FNP-C, DCNP, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Missouri Dermatology Laser & Vein Center, which has locations in Fenton, Chesterfield, and O’Fallon, Missouri. She received her Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Dermatology Certification through Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board. Anastasia received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri – Columbia and her Master of Science in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis. Prior to joining Missouri Dermatology Laser & Vein Center’s practice staff in January 2015, Anastasia worked as a critical care nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of St. Clare Hospital. Anastasia provides treatment for a variety of skin disorders. She is experienced with numerous dermatologic procedures, including minor surgeries.
Anastasia is fluent in both English and Russian. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Petersen, MD, FAAD, is a fellowship-trained dermatologist and MOHS surgeon at Missouri Dermatology Laser and Vein Center, which has locations in Fenton, Chesterfield, and O'Fallon, Missouri. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an active member of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American College of MOHS Surgery.
Dr. Petersen completed his dermatology training at Indiana University School of Medicine and a skin cancer fellowship in MOHS micrographic surgery and reconstruction at the University of Texas Southwestern. He has been practicing dermatology since 2000.
Dr. Petersen has been the Mohs surgeon and held Assistant Professor positions at both Indiana University and Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. He has also lectured and taught both nationally and internationally about skin cancer and diseases of the lower extremities.

Dr. Shivani V. Tripathi is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is an active member in the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). Dr. Tripathi completed her dermatology residency training at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining Missouri Dermatology, Dr. Tripathi was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Washington University in St. Louis caring for high-risk skin cancer patients, providing general dermatology care, teaching and lecturing residents, and performing cosmetic and surgical procedures. She has lectured at the AAD and ASDS meetings, and has been involved in AAD and ASDS Advocacy efforts for patients and the field of dermatology. She has authored multiple academic dermatology journal articles and textbooks, and has been active in dermatologic clinical research as well.
She has an interest in surgical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as general dermatology. She is very patient focused, believing in an informed and holistic approach to medicine. Outside of the practice, Dr. Tripathi cherishes time with her husband, daughter and son. Her husband is also a physician, an Interventional Radiologist, as well as St. Louis native and an avid St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan.
