In his free time, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with his wife, Patty, and two young boys, Levi and Luke. He is also an avid sports fan who follows the Rockets, the Texans, the Astros as well as sports teams from his alma mater Texas Longhorns.
Carly Dunn, MD, serves patients in River Oaks, Texas, as a dermatologist at Elite Dermatology. She offers medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatological services for adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Dunn grew up in Houston. She graduated first in her class in high school, after which she graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a major in biology and a minor in history. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where she graduated with Honors. While a medical student, she received the Rosa May Griffin Presidential Excellence Award and Scholarship and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, which signifies her lasting commitment to professionalism, leadership, research, and community service. She received the “Outstanding Intern Award” from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for her hard work and dedication to her patients during her intern year.
After finishing her internship, Dr. Dunn returned to Houston to complete her training in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was selected to serve as the chief resident during her final year. During her training, she published numerous peer-reviewed articles. She was awarded the Sam Weinberg Case of the Year at the Society of Pediatric Dermatology’s PreAAD Meeting in 2021 as well as was awarded “The Coolest Thing We Learned” Dermie Award by the Dermasphere Podcast in 2022 for her article entitled “Dermatologic manifestations in spaceflight: a review.” Dr. Dunn continues to stay active with the American Academy of Dermatology, Texas Dermatological Society, and Houston Dermatological Society, and stays up to date on the most advanced medical treatments.
Dr. Dunn is kind, compassionate, listens well, and is understanding. Dr. Dunn says her favorite aspect of her career is the opportunity to talk with patients about the health of their skin and how their general health affects skin health. She provides patients with well-rounded and personalized care, treating each patient as though they were members of her own family.
In her off time, Dr. Dunn enjoys traveling to destinations such as Turkey, Italy, Indonesia, and Australia. She also enjoys playing tennis with friends and reading historical fiction and mysteries.

Suzanne Alkul, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon serving patients at the Fulshear, Vintage Park and River Oaks locations. She is an expert in surgical and non-surgical treatment of skin cancer and removal of benign growths. She is passionate about treating the skin, and carefully follows her patients from the first visit to the final cure. Dr. Alkul completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She is currently pursuing advanced training as a Mohs Micrographic surgeon and serves on the board of directors for the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Alkul is a native Texan, born and raised in Lubbock. She received her B.S. in biochemistry and M.D. from Texas Tech University. As an undergraduate student, she maintained a 4.0 GPA and graduated summa cum laude as Valedictorian of her class. She first discovered her passion for dermatology and skin surgery during medical school while providing high quality skin care at no cost and securing generous grants for medication and high-tech dermatological equipment for the Lubbock Impact Free Clinic. During her time in medical school, Dr. Alkul played a vital role as a Dean’s ambassador and Admissions Committee member, selecting and shaping future generations of physicians. She also served as president of the prestigious honor society Alpha Omega Alpha and was nominated and selected by her peers for the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Alkul is an innovator in her field, and attends local and national dermatology conferences to stay current on the newest skin cancer treatment and advances in surgical reconstruction. She has authored numerous articles and presents her research at these meetings. She has done research on post-operative complications and how they are influenced by pre-operative hypertension and anticoagulation. She has also researched ways to reduce the pain and anxiety associated with anesthetic injections prior to surgery in order to maximize patient comfort.
In her spare time, Dr. Alkul enjoys exploring local farmer’s markets and coffee shops, baking scones with her family, and keeping up to date with Formula 1 racing .

Samantha Robare, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who owns and operates Magnolia Dermatology in Cypress, Texas. With over 12 years of experience, Dr. Robare specializes in providing patient-centered cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatologic care for men, women, and children.
Dr. Robare graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in biology from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She worked as a medical tutor before earning her medical doctorate from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California.
After finishing her internal medicine residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Robare completed an additional dermatology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Throughout her education, Dr. Robare has received numerous awards, including the Minnie L. Anderson Award and the coveted title of chief resident.
Today, Dr. Robare is proud to provide comprehensive dermatologic care to her patients. In addition to diagnosing and treating common skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer, Dr. Robare performs a wide range of cosmetic treatments, including Botox®, dermal fillers, and chemical peels.
To stay abreast of the latest dermatologic treatments and techniques, Dr. Robare is an active member of the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Dermatological Society, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Houston Dermatological Society, the American Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society.
Diana Chou, MPAS, PA-C, is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Texas Medical Board. She attended the University of Houston and graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. She further advanced her interest in medicine and patient care by completing her Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2014. She was the recipient of the William J. and Mary K. McGanity award from her class, a distinguished recognition for clinical excellence.
Prior to joining Magnolia Dermatology, she worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Surgical Oncology specializing in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. She also spent years training under and working alongside Dr. Robare at a previous practice.
Diana's clinical interests encompass all aspects of dermatology, including medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistant and has recently completed its diplomate fellowship program, demonstrating her commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in her field.
In her spare time, Diana enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and being a mom of two.
Vannica Soy, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Magnolia Dermatology. Vannica provides high-quality care to the residents of Cypress, Texas, and surrounding areas.
Vannica began her nursing career in the operating room in 2013 at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston. Her educational background started at Houston Community College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She furthered her education and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015 from The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).
Vannica gained experience working in the operating room at Texas Children’s Hospital in in Houston. As an operating room nurse, she completed two pediatric surgical mission trips to Guatemala with Faith in Practice.
Vannica entered the field of dermatology in 2017 as a staff nurse at a dermatology clinic, where she pursued her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
She successfully completed the graduate program at UTA in 2020 and became a full-time Nurse Practitioner, seeing patients with a variety of skin issues.
Vannica is excited to join the team at Magnolia Dermatology to serve the Cypress community, a place she calls home.
When not working, Vannica enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and cats, working out, trying new foods, and traveling.
