Sydney Liang, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. With a strong educational background and rigorous training, Dr. Liang completed her undergraduate degrees in cell biology, genetics, and human development at the University of Maryland, earning early acceptance to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society as a Junior and graduating with the highest honors of summa cum laude. While earning her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Liang was elected as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and graduated top of her medical school class. She then completed her residency in dermatology at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University Langone Health. While in residency, Dr. Liang earned multiple awards for academic excellence, leadership, and research and received the Morris Leider MD Award for the “Best All-around Resident” at the end of her training. Vignesh Ramachandran, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology who treats adults and children in full-spectrum general, medical, and cosmetic dermatology conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails. When he was a child, he and his family immigrated to a small town of 16,000 in Ontario, Canada before his educational journey brought him to the United States. Dr. Ramachandran still maintains those small town values, merging relentless hard work with compassion, honesty and humility to care for his patients and community.
Dr. Ramachandran graduated as a Presidential Scholar from the Dean’s Scholars Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin. He then graduated #1 in his medical school class at the top-ranked Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he was inducted into the prestigious Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. He went on to complete his internship in Internal Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, where he was awarded Outstanding Intern of the Year. Dr. Ramachandran then completed his dermatology residency at the world-renowned Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University. By the end of his three years of residency, he was nationally recognized as a 3-time 'Rising Derm Star’, was an investigator in several clinical trials, published 100 peer-reviewed research papers, and served on national dermatology committees. He culminated his residency training with the Irwin M. Freedberg, M.D. Award for the resident who has done the most to advance Dermatology in the ‘House of Medicine’.
Dr. Ramachandran sees patients at the SINY® Dermatology offices in Bayridge and Forest Hills. He also serves as a Clinical Instructor in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University, where he conducts hospital consultations at NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn and teaches residents.
Allison Jaekle is a Board Certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Allison was born and raised locally on Long Island. She attended Binghamton University for her undergraduate degree in History with a concentration in Public Health. She then attended Touro College for a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Master in Physician Assistant Studies, where she received the Leadership, Academic, and Clinical Achievement awards upon graduation.
She is currently an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. Allison has always had a true passion for dermatology and is honored to be part of the SINY Dermatology team. Anna Karp, DO, is a board-certified dermatologist at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Karp specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology, and she treats adults and children at SINY’s® three offices in New York City’s West Village and Bay Ridge and Park Slope in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Karp is a native New Yorker, growing up on the South Shore of Long Island. After graduating magna cum laude with her bachelor of arts degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Binghamton, she went on to earn her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City. She then completed dual residencies in Family Medicine and Dermatology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York.
During her residency, Dr. Karp presented at a number of local and national conferences, and she published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. She also served as Chief Resident during the final year.
Dr. Karp is an active fellow and member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and the American Medical Association. As a highly skilled dermatologist, she focuses on providing the highest level of individualized and compassionate care to all her patients.
Dr. Rallis obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with honors, followed by her medical degree with honors from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. During medical school, she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha society. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Utah and became board certified in Medicine. However, dermatology was her calling, leading her to pursue a Dermatology residency at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She remained on staff for seven years, becoming an Assistant Professor. Following a family decision to move to Greece, she became the Director of Dermatology at the Interbalkan European Medical Center in Northern Greece. She returned to the US in 2016, working as a dermatologist at Harvard Vanguard in Massachusetts before coming to NYC.
Dr. Rallis maintains active membership in the American Academy of Dermatology, The European Academy of Dermatology, and the American Contact Dermatitis Society. Her areas of interest include general medical dermatology in patients of all ages, with a focus on contact dermatitis, rashes, and comprehensive skin checks in our fight to prevent skin cancer.
Lisa M. Gruson, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and part of the medical team at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Gruson practices medical and cosmetic dermatology and performs laser procedures at SINY’s® three offices, one in the West Village area of New York City and the others in the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
After earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, Dr. Gruson received her medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. While in medical school, she earned the Marion B. Sulzberger Dermatology Award and membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her dermatology residency at the NYU Medical Center, serving as chief resident and receiving the Morris Leider Award for excellence in dermatology.
Dr. Gruson is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and an active member of numerous professional medical organizations, including the New York State Medical Society, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, and the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York. She has conducted research and published numerous scholarly articles on dermatology topics, including skin allergies, her area of expertise, and she has presented these findings at national medical conferences.
As a clinical assistant professor at the NYU School of Medicine, Dr. Gruson teaches dermatology residents and also advises medical students who are considering the dermatology specialty.
Dr. Brazen is a native Floridian from Clearwater, FL. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Florida State University before moving back home to complete his Master's degree in Medical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr. Brazen went on to complete medical school at Nova Southeastern University, and subsequently stayed in Southeast Florida to complete his three-year Dermatology Residency at Broward Health Medical Center.
There he received extensive training in general and complex medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, medical hair restoration, laser surgery, injectable fillers, and Botox. During his residency, Dr. Brazen was elected to serve as a chief resident, an honor awarded to the top residents in their class. During his residency, Dr. Brazen published papers in many academic journals and served as Chair of the Resident Committee for the Florida Academy of Dermatology. Outside of the office, Dr. Brazen is an avid golfer, scuba diver, and fisherman. He loves to spend time with his family and their pet Sheepadoodle, Goose.
Shoshana Blumenthal, MD, is a dedicated board-certified dermatologist bringing expertise and compassion to patients at Luminary Dermatology, with offices in Kendall and Homestead, Florida.
Growing up in Milwaukee, Dr. Blumenthal was inspired by her family's battles with skin cancer, igniting her passion for dermatology early in her medical journey. A graduate of George Washington University in Washington, DC, Dr. Blumenthal holds a master's degree in professional studies from the Graduate School of Political Management. Her path to medicine was paved during her tenure as a congressional staffer, where she discovered her fervor for healthcare.
During medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Dr. Blumenthal excelled academically and was recognized for her leadership, earning induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Following medical school, she completed her transitional year at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Continuing her journey, Dr. Blumenthal pursued her dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, training under top-tier dermatologists and Mohs surgeons. Throughout her training, she conducted extensive research, publishing numerous articles and presenting at dermatologic conferences.
