Dr. Poulos is a native of Florida and received his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Miami. After graduation, he proudly served in the US Army for four years as a health care specialist, then went on to pursue a career in medicine and attended Nova Southeastern University. He completed a Traditional Rotating Internship and Dermatology Residency at Larkin Community Hospital.
Dr. Poulos is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
After graduating, Dr. Poulos opened Global Dermatology in beautiful Colorado Springs. As a boutique dermatology clinic, the team is able to take a personalized approach to care and get to know each of their patients. In addition to routine skin checks and providing treatment for common skin concerns like acne and eczema, Dr. Poulos is skilled in performing Mohs surgery for skin cancer. Global Dermatology also offers cosmetic dermatology services, including Botox® injections, chemical peels, and microneedling. Frank Samarin, MD is the solo dermatologist at Mountaintop Dermatology where he combines his passion for dermatology and people with a deep commitment to his faith, family, and community.
Raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Samarin's journey in medicine began with his medical degree from Drexel School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He then served as a flight surgeon for the United States Air Force, showcasing his dedication to both medicine and service.
Dr. Samarin completed his dermatology residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut before moving to Colorado Springs to become the dermatologist at the United States Air Force Academy. It was during this time that he and his family fell in love with the Colorado Springs area, leading them to make it their permanent home.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Samarin is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoys hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, and playing pick-up basketball. If you have any tips or advice on these activities, feel free to share them during your appointment!
