Sanna Ronkainen, M.D, F.A.A.D. is a board-certified dermatologist. Dr. Ronkainen is a Northern Virginia native, born and raised in Fairfax County. She graduated from St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, and earned her B.A. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation from Rice, she was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship--a grant to pursue research through travel in a topic of personal interest--studying type 1 diabetes. She has presented her research at various national conferences, including the annual conference of the American Academy of Pediatric Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatopathology, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Gonzales appreciates that every person is unique, with unique skincare challenges and goals. She enjoys getting to know and understand each of her patients and is motivated by problem-solving. Her goal is to efficiently deliver successful treatment plans tailored to the needs of each patient.
Originally from northern New Jersey, Dr. Gonzales has now made Washington, D.C./northern Virginia her home. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two young daughters.
