Dr. Altchek’s office is located on the Upper East Side in the heart of Manhattan, NY. Dr. Altchek is dedicated to the complete care of the skin, the early detection and cure of skin cancer, the care of aging skin, and the relief of suffering from skin disease. Dr. Altchek is a renowned dermatologic surgeon with expertise in skin resurfacing, laser, microdermabrasion, fillers and wrinkle treatments. He is also an expert in difficult to diagnose and treat dermatologic conditions and tropical diseases of the skin. Dr. Allen N. Sapadin graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva Univeristy and received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Prior to accepting a research fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Sapadin attended Rutgers Law School and graduated with honors.
He returned to Mount Sinai to complete a dermatology residency and served as Chief Resident in his third year. While a resident he earned many awards, including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. Each year this honor is bestowed upon three of six hundred residents at Mount Sinai Medical Center. In his third year of residency Dr. Sapadin was chosen by the American Academy of Dermatology to represent the United States at the annual British Association of Dermatologists meeting.
Following his residency, Dr. Sapadin joined the full-time faculty at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. There he earned the prestigious Solomon Silver award for excellence in clinical medicine.
Dr. Sapadin is an internationally-known researcher whose curriculum vitae includes over 100 publications. He lectures widely at national and international meetings and is frequently invited by hospitals to give “Grand Rounds” presentations. Dr. Vitaly Terushkin is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He practices Mohs surgery for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. He also teaches dermatology residents at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Terushkin is one of a few Mohs surgeons in the tri-state area formally trained to treat melanoma with Mohs surgery and the MART-1 immunostain. In addition, he is one of a handful of Mohs surgeons in the country to have completed a fellowship in dermatopathology. Since entering practice, he has performed over 6,500 Mohs surgeries.
Dr. Terushkin graduated summa cum laude from Brandeis University and then attended NYU School of Medicine. While in medical school, he spent an extra year conducting research at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and his dermatology residency at NYU, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Soleymani completed his internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was awarded the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Award. He then went on to complete his residency at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, one of the world’s most premier dermatology training programs. While at Stanford, Dr. Soleymani worked with world-renowned experts in cutaneous oncology and complex skin diseases and was the recipient of various academic awards and distinctions.
Following residency, Dr. Soleymani completed a rigorous fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Cutaneous Oncology, and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Zitelli and Brodland Skin Cancer Center under the tutelage of John Zitelli, M.D., considered by many to be the world’s most prestigious and competitive fellowship program. His fellowship was directed by both John Zitelli, M.D. and David Brodland, M.D, widely considered to be two of the pre-eminent leading authorities in Mohs surgery. Notably, Dr. Soleymani’s fellowship director, Dr. John A. Zitelli, MD, was trained directly by Dr. Frederic E. Mohs himself, the founder and pioneer of Mohs surgery. This direct lineage from Dr. Mohs enables Dr. Soleymani provides his patients with the highest-quality Mohs surgery possible. Additionally and in much acclaim, Dr. Soleymani’s unique fellowship training was the only program in the world that included fellowship training in both Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well. As a result he is one of only a handful of Mohs Surgeons in the world with dedicated specialized training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well, allowing him to provide the best possible functional and aesthetic reconstructive results.
Dr. Soleymani also completed a fellowship in dermatopharmacology, clinical trials and drug development at the famed Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU in New York City. During this time, he was a co-investigator for over 14 different investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored, multi-center, phase I-III clinical trials developing new drugs for various diseases in dermatology. His work during his fellowship earned him the coveted Maurice Husik, M.D. Award for Best Research.
Prior to establishing California Dermatology and Mohs Surgery Specialists, Dr. Soleymani practiced as a full-time Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at UCLA, where he was also the Director of the Pigmented Lesions and Melanoma Clinic, as well as Co-Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship Education and Resident Surgery Education programs.
During his tenure at UCLA, Dr. Soleymani received both local and national acclaim for introducing landmark and pioneering surgical treatments for complex, high-risk and challenging skin cancers. He introduced advanced Mohs micrographic surgery with intra-operative immunostaining to UCLA, pioneered groundbreaking work for the treatment of early-stage melanomas on the head and neck developed UCLA’s first Mohs Surgery for Melanoma program. He also pioneered the creation and utilization of advanced intra-operative immunostaining during surgery for high-risk, complex and rare-skin cancers, which allowed for much higher tumor cure rates and greater successful clearance of the most challenging tumors. As a result of his pioneering work, Dr. Soleymani was able to make tremendous improvements in patient outcomes and quality of care.
In addition to clinical patient care, Dr. Soleymani remains robustly active in academic research, continuing to publish numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters in textbooks. He has lectured and continues to present at local, regional, and national academic conferences and remains active in clinical and translational research regarding dermatologic oncology and surgical reconstruction. He is considered by many to be a key thought leader and national expert in skin cancer treatment.

Bharati Chittineni, MD, known as "Dr. C", is a board-certified Dermatologist practicing in the Chicago Suburbs since 2002. Dr. C was born in California and raised in Oklahoma before coming to Illinois. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Structural Biology at the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana and received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Rockford. Dr. C completed an internship at Ravenswood Medical Center and then completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002 and joined Midwest Dermatology Center the same year
Dr. C is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Chicago Dermatological Society, Illinois State Medical Society, Dermatology Foundation, and American Medical Association. She is also on staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and also at Central Du Page Hospital. Dr. C has been published in leading dermatology journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
In 2008, Dr. C was selected into the Who's Who Global Directory for her achievements in dermatology.
With a dedication toward providing comprehensive treatment customized to each individual - from infants to the elderly - Dr. C believes in establishing relationships with her patients that are based on listening, open communication, patient education and empowerment. She is attracted to all aspects of dermatology including general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with a special interest in skin cancer prevention and treatment. Dermatology has allowed her to fuse her passions of science, art, technology, and creativity with the human spirit.
Dr. C is married to a physician and has two sons. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, watching movies, and playing tennis.
