I have been a licensed Professional Counselor in the Milwaukee area since 2011, assisting adults, adolescents, and couples through a wide variety of mental health issues. I approach my clients holistically, utilizing various therapeutic techniques to meet each client's unique goals and needs.
In the demanding, hectic world that we live in, the first thing we tend to sacrifice is self-care. I am passionate about helping individuals reprioritize themselves and discover healthy ways to cope with the more difficult aspects of life, as well as help them discover the importance of developing connection between the body and mind for overall wellness. I work hard to create a safe, welcoming environment for my clients so that they may gain valuable insight, motivation, and confidence to achieve their goals and live their best lives.
“I've been seeing Amy close to 5 years. She helped me through the pandemic, when I started struggling with anxiety and panic attacks. She helped guide through the pros and cons of medications, as I was reluctant to take them. Not only have I loved the guidance Amy has offered, but I grew to seek it because of how much I value her input. I am now seeing Amy for maintenance, as she has already helped guide me through the most challenging times.”
My first spark of joy in education happened after going through my own therapy and falling in love with art. I learned that the creative process has therapeutic benefits that can help people on their journey to health, so I began a career in art therapy. I supplemented my education with additional trainings to add to my tool box of interventions. These included trauma recovery training with Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and a yearlong certificate program in Infant, Early Childhood and Family Mental Health with UW-Madison. This shifted my focus to supporting and treating family relationships instead of just working with a child. I value each and every person I meet in all stages of life and need, but I am most passionate about working with the little ones who don’t always have a voice.
“Brian was very easy to talk to and understanding of our difficult situation. We appreciate the level of comfort he brought to our session and would highly recommend him.”
