Dr. Nieves was born and raised in Puerto Rico where she graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. She proceeded to complete her Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Cornell in New York City, followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Massachusetts. Dr. Nieves specializes in general gastroenterology and some of her interests include inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Nieves is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and strives to develop and maintain good relationships with her patients. She loves spending her free time traveling and enjoying the outdoors with her husband and 2 children.
I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor who is EMDR trained. I worked in community mental health at UPMC and in private practice. Prior to my counseling career I worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist, which was where my passion to help people in pain began. I have worked with a wide range of people with different backgrounds and cultures which helped me to learn to interface with a diverse population. I have my master's degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and went to the University of Pittsburgh for my undergraduate education. I truly respect people and and how difficult it can be to reach out for help. Linda Elwood is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Ursuline college and her Master’s Degree in counseling at John Carroll University. Ms. Elwood takes a family systems approach to treating relationship problems; family and parenting issues, depression and women’s issues. My name is Earl Wood, I am an LAPC in ND. I have experience working with various populations of people, primarily treating anxiety disorders, depression, shame, stress, relationship conflict, anger, spiritual concerns, adjustment disorders and identity issues. My theoretical lens is eclectic.
