Paul grew up farming and ranching in southeastern Idaho. He earned his first bachelor’s degree at Idaho State University in Zoology while working at Bannock Memorial Hospital. After graduating from ISU, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Western States University. Paul returned to Pocatello to practice as a chiropractor where he ran a private practice for many years. 

In 2009, he decided to return to school to expand what he could offer patients. While running his chiropractic clinic, he earned his second bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texa, in Nursing.
