Nilamben Patel, DO, FAAAAI, is dual board-certified in allergy and immunology and internal medicine. She currently sees patients at Sunshine Allergy and Asthma in North Port, Florida.
Dr. Patel graduated in the top 10% of her class and trained in internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She spearheaded several research projects in the allergy department and was published in three short years in areas of food allergy and asthma.
She joined Boston Medical Center for an allergy and immunology fellowship, where she honed her diagnostic skills in food allergy, eczema, asthma, and immunodeficiency. She was invited to present her research projects at the 2017, 2018, and 2019 national allergy conferences. Dr. Patel served as a member of the committee to enhance education and research for trainees and was a mentor for future allergists.
After graduation, Dr. Patel joined the prestigious University of Massachusetts Medical School as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics. She was co-director of the Allergy Clinic and director of the Pediatric Allergy Clinic. She served as a faculty member for medical students, resident trainees, and fellow trainees.
She moved to Florida with her husband and dog in 2020 to help serve her community and provide top-notch care. At Sunshine Allergy and Asthma, Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing comprehensive, thorough, evidence-based care throughout shared decision-making.
