In the past seven years, I have had the honor of working in a wellness center, a detox facility and a non-profit community clinic. It has given me the opportunity to work with people in chronic pain, acute detox and those needing support for their mental and emotional health. In addition to my Master’s in Chinese Medicine, I have completed additional studies in TMJ/jaw pain, postpartum conditions and autoimmune disease. In 2021, I graduated from Pacific College of Health and Science with a professional doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
When I work with my patients, it is a collaborative approach. Patient and practitioner work together to determine the goals for treatment and the plan for getting there. I look forward to working with you.
“I first started acupuncture with Britanie to address digestive issues a few years ago. Long story short, I have been going to see her regularly ever since. The flexibility of scheduling and comfortable environment she creates is the best! Britanie takes time before every session to check in and see how I'm doing, reassess, and tackle anything new that has popped up. She even takes time to check in outside of our sessions, and I can tell she is invested in improving my overall health.”

Anne Carruth, a licensed acupuncturist since 2008, integrates her expertise in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine with a solid foundation in the biological sciences, and a deep commitment to patient care. Her love of Chinese medicine stems from its emphasis on preventative care and its holistic view of the mind, body, and spirit. She embraces the traditional Chinese model of addressing both one’s symptoms and their underlying causes, enabling her to treat a wide variety of health concerns, ranging from acute pain to the common cold.
Anne specializes in aesthetic acupuncture and holistic skincare. Her personal experiences with acne, scarring, discoloration, and aging skin have honed her skills and informed her treatment approach. Utilizing microneedling, cosmetic acupuncture, LED therapy, and other collagen induction therapies, she addresses fine lines, wrinkles, acne, rosacea, scarring, sun damage, discoloration, aging skin, and hair loss. Her unique approach of blending traditional acupuncture techniques with science-backed aesthetic treatments delivers profound, natural results.
In addition to her work in aesthetics, Anne is passionate about pain relief. As an exercise junkie and outdoor enthusiast, she understands the impact of injuries firsthand. She has extensive training in sports medicine acupuncture and orthopedics and continually refines her approaches to physical trauma and pain management. Whether your pain stems from an auto accident, sports injury, cancer, overuse, or an unknown cause, Anne enjoys navigating the body’s complexities to identify and address the root of the issue.
Anne’s gentle needling technique and compassionate approach make her an ideal practitioner for sensitive patients and those new to acupuncture. Her extensive training and clinical experience enable her to tackle the most difficult of cases with confidence and sensitivity.
When she’s not treating patients, Anne enjoys biking, surfing, pilates, concerts, and adventuring with her husband and two dogs.

Dr. Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and he spent part of his childhood there before relocating to beautiful Ashland, Oregon, and then to Portland.
